Abdullah bin Masud reported,

When the verse "Those who believed and did not mix their faith with wrongdoing" [Anam 6:82] was revealed, the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Which of us has not wronged himself?" So Allah revealed, "Indeed, associating others with Allah is a great wrongdoing" [Luqman 31:13].

عن عبد الله قال

لما نزلت {الذين آمنوا ولم يلبسوا إيمانهم بظلم} قال أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ أينا لم يظلم فأنزل الله عز وجل {إن الشرك لظلم عظيم}
