"Thursday, and what a Thursday it was!" Then he wept until his tears wet the pebbles.I asked, "Abu Abbas, what happened on Thursday?"He replied, "The pain of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ grew severe, and he said, 'Bring me a shoulder blade so I may write for you a document after which you will never go astray.' But they began to dispute, and dispute is not fitting in the presence of a prophet. They said, 'What is wrong with him? Is he speaking deliriously? Ask him to clarify.' He said, 'Leave me alone, for what I am in is better than what you are calling me to.' Then he instructed them with three things. He said, 'Expel the polytheists from the Arabian Peninsula, and grant the delegations the same gifts I used to grant them.' As for the third, it was good, but either he remained silent about it, or he said it and I forgot it."Sufyan said, "This last statement is from Sulayman."
حدثنا محمد حدثنا ابن عيينة عن سليمان بن أبي مسلم الأحول سمع سعيد بن جبير سمع
يوم الخميس وما يوم الخميس ثم بكى حتى بل دمعه الحصى قلت يا أبا عباس ما يوم الخميس قال اشتد برسول الله ﷺ وجعه فقال ائتوني بكتف أكتب لكم كتابا لا تضلوا بعده أبدا فتنازعوا ولا ينبغي عند نبي تنازع فقالوا ما له أهجر استفهموه فقال ذروني فالذي أنا فيه خير مما تدعونني إليه فأمرهم بثلاث قال أخرجوا المشركين من جزيرة العرب وأجيزوا الوفد بنحو ما كنت أجيزهم والثالثة خير إما أن سكت عنها وإما أن قالها فنسيتها قال سفيان هذا من قول سليمان
