Ayesha reported,

One of the Prophet's ﷺ wives observed itikaf with him while she was experiencing istihadah and was seeing blood, so at times she would place a basin beneath her to catch the blood. He also mentioned that Ayesha once saw safflower-colored water and said, "This looks like something so-and-so used to experience."
