The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived on the day of the Conquest from the upper part of Makkah on his mount, with Usama bin Zayd riding behind him. Bilal was with him, along with Uthman bin Talha, the keeper of the Kaaba, until he made his camel kneel inside the mosque. He then ordered Uthman to bring the key to the House. Uthman opened it, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered, accompanied by Usama, Bilal, and Uthman. He remained inside for a long part of the day, then came out.The people raced to enter, and Abdullah bin Umar was the first to go in. He found Bilal standing behind the door and asked him where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had prayed. Bilal pointed out to him the spot where he had prayed.Abdullah said, "I forgot to ask him how many units of prayer he performed."
حدثنا يحيى بن بكير حدثنا الليث قال يونس أخبرني نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ أقبل يوم الفتح من أعلى مكة على راحلته مردفا أسامة بن زيد ومعه بلال ومعه عثمان بن طلحة من الحجبة حتى أناخ في المسجد فأمره أن يأتي بمفتاح البيت ففتح ودخل رسول الله ﷺ ومعه أسامة وبلال وعثمان فمكث فيها نهارا طويلا ثم خرج فاستبق الناس وكان عبد الله بن عمر أول من دخل فوجد بلالا وراء الباب قائما فسأله أين صلى رسول الله ﷺ فأشار له إلى المكان الذي صلى فيه قال عبد الله فنسيت أن أسأله كم صلى من سجدة
