Anas bin Malik reported,

The Prophet ﷺ was the finest and bravest of people. One night the people of Madinah were alarmed and rushed out toward the source of a sound, but the Prophet ﷺ met them on his way back, having already investigated the matter. He was riding a horse belonging to Abu Talha, bareback, with a sword slung around his neck, saying, "Do not be afraid, do not be afraid." Then he said about the horse, "We found him to be like a sea," or he said, "Indeed, he is a sea."
