Abdullah bin Umar reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ held a race between horses that had not been trained for racing, and the course set for them ran from al-Thaniyyah to the mosque of Banu Zurayq. Abdullah bin Umar was among those who raced.Abu Abdullah said, "Amad means a goal or end-point, as in the verse 'so the term seemed long to them' [Hadid 57:16]."
