I came to Jabir bin Abdullah al-Ansari and said to him, "Tell me what you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."He said, "I traveled with him on one of his journeys."Abu Aqeel said, "I do not know whether it was a military expedition or an Umra."Jabir continued, "When we were returning, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Whoever wishes to hurry back to his family, let him hurry.' So we set off, and I was riding an ash-colored camel of mine that had no markings on it, with the people behind me. While I was in that state, the camel suddenly stopped. The Prophet ﷺ said to me, 'Jabir, hold on tight.' Then he struck it with his whip a single blow, and the camel leapt forward from its place.He then said, 'Will you sell this camel?'I replied, 'Yes.'When we arrived in Madinah and the Prophet ﷺ entered the mosque among a group of his companions, I went in to him after tethering the camel at the side of the paved area. I said to him, 'Here is your camel.'He came out and began circling around the camel saying, 'The camel is our camel.' Then the Prophet ﷺ sent for several ounces of gold and said, 'Give these to Jabir.'Then he asked, 'Have you received the full price?'I said, 'Yes.'He said, 'The price and the camel are both yours.'"
حدثنا مسلم حدثنا أبو عقيل حدثنا
أتيت جابر بن عبد الله الأنصاري فقلت له حدثني بما سمعت من رسول الله ﷺ قال سافرت معه في بعض أسفاره قال أبو عقيل لا أدري غزوة أو عمرة فلما أن أقبلنا قال النبي ﷺ من أحب أن يتعجل إلى أهله فليعجل قال جابر فأقبلنا وأنا على جمل لي أرمك ليس فيه شية والناس خلفي فبينا أنا كذلك إذ قام علي فقال لي النبي ﷺ يا جابر استمسك فضربه بسوطه ضربة فوثب البعير مكانه فقال أتبيع الجمل قلت نعم فلما قدمنا المدينة ودخل النبي ﷺ المسجد في طوائف أصحابه فدخلت إليه وعقلت الجمل في ناحية البلاط فقلت له هذا جملك فخرج فجعل يطيف بالجمل ويقول الجمل جملنا فبعث النبي ﷺ أواق من ذهب فقال أعطوها جابرا ثم قال استوفيت الثمن قلت نعم قال الثمن والجمل لك
