The Prophet ﷺ met him on one of the roads of Madinah while he was in a state of major ritual impurity, so he slipped away, went and performed the full ablution, then came back.The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Where were you, Abu Hurayrah?"He replied, "I was in a state of major ritual impurity, and I disliked sitting with you while I was not pure."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Glory be to Allah! The Muslim does not become impure."

أن النبي ﷺ لقيه في بعض طريق المدينة وهو جنب فانخنست منه فذهب فاغتسل ثم جاء فقال أين كنت يا أبا هريرة قال كنت جنبا فكرهت أن أجالسك وأنا على غير طهارة فقال سبحان الله إن المسلم لا ينجس
