A man displayed his merchandise for sale and swore by Allah that he had been offered for it a price that he had not actually been offered. So this verse was revealed, "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their oaths for a small price..." [Aal Imran 3:77].Ibn Abu Awfa said, "The one who inflates the price falsely in an auction is a devourer of usury and a treacherous deceiver."
