The people's provisions ran low and they fell into hardship, so they came to the Prophet ﷺ seeking permission to slaughter their camels, and he granted them permission.Umar met them and they told him about it. He said, "How will you survive after losing your camels?"Then he went in to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, how will they survive after losing their camels?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Call out to the people to bring whatever provisions they have left."A leather mat was spread out for that purpose, and the people placed their provisions on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up, supplicated, and invoked blessing upon it. Then he called for them to bring their containers, and the people scooped up provisions until they were satisfied.Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that I am the Messenger of Allah."
حدثنا بشر بن مرحوم حدثنا حاتم بن إسماعيل عن يزيد بن أبي عبيد
خفت أزواد القوم وأملقوا فأتوا النبي ﷺ في نحر إبلهم فأذن لهم فلقيهم عمر فأخبروه فقال ما بقاؤكم بعد إبلكم فدخل على النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله ما بقاؤهم بعد إبلهم فقال رسول الله ﷺ ناد في الناس فيأتون بفضل أزوادهم فبسط لذلك نطع وجعلوه على النطع فقام رسول الله ﷺ فدعا وبرك عليه ثم دعاهم بأوعيتهم فاحتثى الناس حتى فرغوا ثم قال رسول الله ﷺ أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأني رسول الله
