Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

I went out on a military expedition with the Prophet ﷺ riding a water-carrying camel of ours, and the camel grew exhausted, so I fell behind. The Prophet ﷺ prodded it from behind and said, "Sell it to me, and you may still ride it back to Madinah."When we drew near, I asked his permission to go ahead, saying, "Messenger of Allah, I am newly married."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Have you married a virgin or a woman previously married?"I replied, "A woman previously married. Abdullah was killed and left behind young daughters, so I married a woman with experience who could teach them and raise them properly."Then he said, "Go to your family."So I arrived and told my maternal uncle that I had sold the camel, and he blamed me for it. But I explained to him how worn out the camel had been, and what the Prophet ﷺ had done, prodding it. When the Prophet ﷺ arrived, I went to him in the morning with the camel, and he gave me the price of the camel, and the camel itself, along with my share of the spoils with the rest of the men.
