Jabir reported that his father had died leaving a debt of thirty wasqs owed to a Jewish man. Jabir asked him to grant an extension, but the man refused. So Jabir spoke to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, asking him to intercede on his behalf. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and spoke to the Jewish man, asking him to accept the fruit of Jabir's date palms in payment of what was owed, but he refused. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then entered the palm grove and walked through it. Afterwards he said to Jabir, "Pick the dates and give him what is owed to him."So Jabir picked the dates after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had left, and he paid him the thirty wasqs in full, with seventeen wasqs remaining as a surplus. Jabir went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to inform him of what had happened, and found him praying the afternoon prayer. When he had finished, Jabir told him about the surplus. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Tell that to Ibn al-Khattab."So Jabir went to Umar and told him. Umar said to him, "I knew, the moment the Messenger of Allah ﷺ walked through the grove, that it would surely be blessed."
