The Prophet ﷺ was speaking one day, with a Bedouin man present, and he said that a man from the people of Paradise asked his Lord for permission to cultivate crops.His Lord said to him, "Are you not in whatever state you wish?"He replied, "Yes, but I love to cultivate."So he sowed the seed, and in the blink of an eye it sprouted, grew tall, and was ready for harvest, becoming like mountains in size. Then Allah says, "Take it, son of Adam, for nothing satisfies you."The Bedouin said, "By Allah, you will only find such a man among the Quraysh or the Ansar, for they are people of cultivation. As for us, we are not people of cultivation."The Prophet ﷺ laughed.
باب حدثنا محمد بن سنان حدثنا فليح حدثنا هلال ح و حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد حدثنا أبو عامر حدثنا فليح عن هلال بن علي عن عطاء بن يسار
أن النبي ﷺ كان يوما يحدث وعنده رجل من أهل البادية أن رجلا من أهل الجنة استأذن ربه في الزرع فقال له ألست فيما شئت قال بلى ولكني أحب أن أزرع قال فبذر فبادر الطرف نباته واستواؤه واستحصاده فكان أمثال الجبال فيقول الله دونك يا ابن آدم فإنه لا يشبعك شيء فقال الأعرابي والله لا تجده إلا قرشيا أو أنصاريا فإنهم أصحاب زرع وأما نحن فلسنا بأصحاب زرع فضحك النبي ﷺ
