The Messenger of Allah ﷺ...Abdul-Razzaq said, Ibn Jurayj informed us, saying, Musa bin Uqba narrated to me from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, that Umar bin Khattab expelled the Jews and Christians from the land of Hijaz.When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gained victory over Khaybar, he intended to expel the Jews from it. At the time of the conquest, the land belonged to Allah, His Messenger ﷺ, and the Muslims. He intended to expel the Jews from it, but they asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to let them remain there in exchange for tending to its cultivation, with half of the produce going to them.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them, "We will leave you on this land on those terms for as long as we wish."So they remained there until Umar expelled them to Tayma and Ariha.
حدثنا أحمد بن المقدام حدثنا فضيل بن سليمان حدثنا موسى أخبرنا نافع
كان رسول الله ﷺ وقال عبد الرزاق أخبرنا ابن جريج قال حدثني موسى بن عقبة عن نافع عن ابن عمر أن عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنهما أجلى اليهود والنصارى من أرض الحجاز وكان رسول الله ﷺ لما ظهر على خيبر أراد إخراج اليهود منها وكانت الأرض حين ظهر عليها لله ولرسوله ﷺ وللمسلمين وأراد إخراج اليهود منها فسألت اليهود رسول الله ﷺ ليقرهم بها أن يكفوا عملها ولهم نصف الثمر فقال لهم رسول الله ﷺ نقركم بها على ذلك ما شئنا فقروا بها حتى أجلاهم عمر إلى تيماء وأريحاء
