The Prophet ﷺ arrived at Khaybar, and when Allah granted him victory over the fortress, the beauty of Safiya bint Huyayy bin Akhtab was mentioned to him. Her husband had been killed, and she was a new bride. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ chose her for himself.He set out with her, and when we reached Sadd ar-Rawha, she became free of her menstrual period, and he consummated the marriage with her. Then he prepared hays in a small leather mat and said, "Invite those around you." That was the Messenger of Allah's wedding feast for Safiya.Then we set out for Medina. I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ making a cushion for her behind him with a cloak, then sitting beside his camel and placing his knee down so that Safiya could put her foot on his knee to mount.

قدم النبي ﷺ خيبر فلما فتح الله عليه الحصن ذكر له جمال صفية بنت حيي بن أخطب وقد قتل زوجها وكانت عروسا فاصطفاها رسول الله ﷺ لنفسه فخرج بها حتى بلغنا سد الروحاء حلت فبنى بها ثم صنع حيسا في نطع صغير ثم قال رسول الله ﷺ آذن من حولك فكانت تلك وليمة رسول الله ﷺ على صفية ثم خرجنا إلى المدينة قال فرأيت رسول الله ﷺ يحوي لها وراءه بعباءة ثم يجلس عند بعيره فيضع ركبته فتضع صفية رجلها على ركبته حتى تركب
