Abdullah bin Umar reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Three men set out walking when rain began to fall on them, so they took shelter in a cave on a mountainside. A boulder rolled down and sealed them inside. They said to one another, 'Call upon Allah by the best deed you have ever done.'One of them said, 'O Allah, I had two elderly parents. I would go out to pasture the flock, then return and milk the animals. I would bring the milk to my parents so they could drink first, then I would give some to the children, my family, and my wife. One night I was delayed, and when I came home I found them both asleep. I disliked waking them, and the children were crying at my feet from hunger. I remained standing there with the milk in my hand, and they remained asleep, until dawn broke. O Allah, if You know that I did this seeking Your face, then open for us a gap through which we can see the sky.'So a gap was opened for them. The second said, 'O Allah, You know that I loved a woman among my cousins with the most intense love a man can have for a woman. She said she would not yield to me unless I gave her a hundred dinars. So I labored until I gathered the sum. When I sat between her legs, she said, "Fear Allah, and do not break the seal except by its rightful means." So I got up and left her. If You know that I did this seeking Your face, then open for us a gap.'So two-thirds of the opening was cleared for them. The third said, 'O Allah, You know that I hired a worker for a measure of millet. I offered it to him, but he refused to take it. So I took that measure and planted it, and from its yield I bought cattle and a herdsman to tend them. Later he came and said, "Abdullah, give me my wage." I said, "Go to those cattle and their herdsman, for they are yours." He said, "Are you mocking me?" I said, "I am not mocking you. They are truly yours." O Allah, if You know that I did this seeking Your face, then relieve us.'So the boulder was removed entirely from them."
