The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not intercept the caravans, and let no townsman sell on behalf of a desert dweller."I asked Ibn Abbas, "What does his statement 'let no townsman sell on behalf of a desert dweller' mean?"He replied, "He should not act as a broker for him."

قال رسول الله ﷺ لا تلقوا الركبان ولا يبع حاضر لباد قال فقلت لابن عباس ما قوله لا يبيع حاضر لباد قال لا يكون له سمسارا
