Abdullah bin Amr bin Haram passed away leaving debts behind. I sought the help of the Prophet ﷺ in asking his creditors to reduce a portion of what was owed. The Prophet ﷺ requested this of them, but they refused.The Prophet ﷺ then said to me, "Go and sort your dates into separate piles. Put the Ajwah dates on their own, and the Adhq Zayd dates on their own, then send for me."I did so and sent word to the Prophet ﷺ. He came and sat on top of the pile, or in the middle of it, then said, "Measure out for the people."So I measured out for them until I had paid them in full what was owed, and my dates remained as if nothing had been taken from them.Firas reported from Shaybi that Jabir told him, narrating from the Prophet ﷺ, "He kept measuring out for them until the debt was paid off."Hisham reported from Wahb, from Jabir, that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Harvest the dates for him and pay him in full."
حدثنا عبدان أخبرنا جرير عن مغيرة عن الشعبي
توفي عبد الله بن عمرو بن حرام وعليه دين فاستعنت النبي ﷺ على غرمائه أن يضعوا من دينه فطلب النبي ﷺ إليهم فلم يفعلوا فقال لي النبي ﷺ اذهب فصنف تمرك أصنافا العجوة على حدة وعذق زيد على حدة ثم أرسل إلي ففعلت ثم أرسلت إلى النبي ﷺ فجاء فجلس على أعلاه أو في وسطه ثم قال كل للقوم فكلتهم حتى أوفيتهم الذي لهم وبقي تمري كأنه لم ينقص منه شيء وقال فراس عن الشعبي حدثني جابر عن النبي ﷺ فما زال يكيل لهم حتى أداه وقال هشام عن وهب عن جابر قال النبي ﷺ جذ له فأوف له
