He walked to the Prophet ﷺ carrying barley bread and rancid fat. The Prophet ﷺ had pawned a coat of armor of his in Medina with a Jewish man and taken from him some barley for his family. I heard him say, "No measure of wheat or grain remains with the family of Muhammad ﷺ by nightfall," though he had nine wives at the time.
