Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman bin Awf reported,

He asked Ayesha how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray during Ramadan.She replied, "He never exceeded eleven units of prayer, whether in Ramadan or otherwise. He would pray four units, and do not ask about their beauty and length. Then he would pray four more, and do not ask about their beauty and length. Then he would pray three."I asked, "Messenger of Allah, do you sleep before performing witr?"He answered, "Ayesha, my eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep."

أنه سأل عائشة رضي الله عنها كيف كانت صلاة رسول الله ﷺ في رمضان فقالت ما كان يزيد في رمضان ولا في غيره على إحدى عشرة ركعة يصلي أربعا فلا تسل عن حسنهن وطولهن ثم يصلي أربعا فلا تسل عن حسنهن وطولهن ثم يصلي ثلاثا فقلت يا رسول الله أتنام قبل أن توتر قال يا عائشة إن عيني تنامان ولا ينام قلبي
