Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever stands in prayer during Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven."Ibn Shihab said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away while the practice remained as such, and it continued in the same manner during the caliphate of Abu Bakr and the early part of the caliphate of Umar ."

حدثنا عبد الله بن يوسف أخبرنا مالك عن ابن شهاب عن حميد بن عبد الرحمن

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه

أن رسول الله ﷺ قال من قام رمضان إيمانا واحتسابا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه قال ابن شهاب فتوفي رسول الله ﷺ والأمر على ذلك ثم كان الأمر على ذلك في خلافة أبي بكر وصدرا من خلافة عمر رضي الله عنهما
