He heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Do not practice continuous fasting. Whoever among you wishes to continue his fast, let him continue it only until the predawn meal."They said, "But you yourself practice continuous fasting, Messenger of Allah."He replied, "I am not like you. I spend the night with One who feeds me and gives me drink."

أنه سمع النبي ﷺ يقول لا تواصلوا فأيكم إذا أراد أن يواصل فليواصل حتى السحر قالوا فإنك تواصل يا رسول الله قال إني لست كهيئتكم إني أبيت لي مطعم يطعمني وساق يسقين
