The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to visit me while I was so ill that I had lost consciousness. He performed ablution and poured some of the water from his ablution over me, and I regained consciousness.I said, "Messenger of Allah, to whom does the inheritance go? I have only distant relatives to inherit from me."Then the verse of inheritance was revealed.
حدثنا أبو الوليد قال حدثنا شعبة عن محمد بن المنكدر قال سمعت
جاء رسول الله ﷺ يعودني وأنا مريض لا أعقل فتوضأ وصب علي من وضوئه فعقلت فقلت يا رسول الله لمن الميراث إنما يرثني كلالة فنزلت آية الفرائض
