Abu Hurairah reported,

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "The wretched one has had relations with his wife during Ramadan."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Can you find the means to free a slave?"He replied, "No."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Are you able to fast two consecutive months?"He replied, "No."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Can you find the means to feed sixty poor people?"He replied, "No."Then the Prophet ﷺ was brought a large basket containing dates, which is called a zabil, and he said, "Feed this to others on your behalf."The man said, "To someone needier than us? Between the two lava plains of Madinah there is no household needier than ours."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then feed it to your family."
