The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The month is twenty-nine nights. Do not fast until you see the crescent, and if it is obscured from you, then complete the count as thirty."
حدثنا عبد الله بن مسلمة حدثنا مالك عن عبد الله بن دينار
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال الشهر تسع وعشرون ليلة فلا تصوموا حتى تروه فإن غم عليكم فأكملوا العدة ثلاثين
