An Arabi came to the Prophet ﷺ and pledged allegiance to him on Islam. The next day he came back stricken with fever and said, "Release me from my pledge."The Prophet ﷺ refused. The man asked three times, and each time he refused.Then he said, "Madinah is like a furnace. It expels its impurities and its goodness shines forth pure."

جاء أعرابي النبي ﷺ فبايعه على الإسلام فجاء من الغد محموما فقال أقلني فأبى ثلاث مرار فقال المدينة كالكير تنفي خبثها وينصع طيبها
