I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The people will leave Madinah while it is in its best state, and none will roam through it except wild beasts and birds. The last to be gathered will be two shepherds from Mazina, heading toward Madinah and calling out to their flocks. They will find it overrun by wild animals, and when they reach Thaniyyat al-Wada, they will fall down on their faces."
حدثنا أبو اليمان أخبرنا شعيب عن الزهري قال أخبرني سعيد بن المسيب أن
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول يتركون المدينة على خير ما كانت لا يغشاها إلا العواف يريد عوافي السباع والطير وآخر من يحشر راعيان من مزينة يريدان المدينة ينعقان بغنمهما فيجدانها وحشا حتى إذا بلغا ثنية الوداع خرا على وجوههما
