I came to the Prophet ﷺ at al-Batha while he was making his camel kneel.He asked, "Have you come for Hajj?"I replied, "Yes."He asked, "What did you say when you entered the state of ihram?"I said, "I declared, 'Here I am, with an ihram like the ihram of the Prophet ﷺ.'"He said, "You have done well. Perform tawaf around the Kaaba and walk between Safa and Marwa, then exit ihram."So I performed tawaf around the Kaaba and walked between Safa and Marwa. Then I went to a woman from Qays who combed out my hair, and afterward I entered ihram for Hajj.I used to give this as a religious ruling until the caliphate of Umar, when he said, "If we follow the Book of Allah, it commands us to complete the rites in full. And if we follow the word of the Prophet ﷺ, he did not exit ihram until the sacrificial animal reached its place of slaughter."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا غندر حدثنا شعبة عن قيس بن مسلم عن طارق بن شهاب
قدمت على النبي ﷺ بالبطحاء وهو منيخ فقال أحججت قلت نعم قال بما أهللت قلت لبيك بإهلال كإهلال النبي ﷺ قال أحسنت طف بالبيت وبالصفا والمروة ثم أحل فطفت بالبيت وبالصفا والمروة ثم أتيت امرأة من قيس ففلت رأسي ثم أهللت بالحج فكنت أفتي به حتى كان في خلافة عمر فقال إن أخذنا بكتاب الله فإنه يأمرنا بالتمام وإن أخذنا بقول النبي ﷺ فإنه لم يحل حتى يبلغ الهدي محله
