We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the start of Dhul-Hijjah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever wishes to enter ihram for Umrah may do so, and whoever wishes to enter ihram for Hajj may do so. Had I not brought a sacrificial animal with me, I would have entered ihram for Umrah."So some entered ihram for Umrah, and others entered ihram for Hajj. I was among those who entered ihram for Umrah. Then I began menstruating before entering Mecca, and the day of Arafah came while I was still menstruating. I complained about this to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, "Set aside your Umrah, undo your hair, comb it, and enter ihram for Hajj." So I did.When the night of Hasbah came, he sent Abdul-Rahman with me to Tanim, and he had her ride behind him. There she entered ihram for an Umrah in place of her earlier Umrah. Thus Allah completed her Hajj and her Umrah, and no sacrifice, charity, or fasting was required for any of that.
حدثنا محمد بن المثنى حدثنا يحيى حدثنا هشام قال أخبرني أبي قال أخبرتني
خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ موافين لهلال ذي الحجة فقال رسول الله ﷺ من أحب أن يهل بعمرة فليهل ومن أحب أن يهل بحجة فليهل ولولا أني أهديت لأهللت بعمرة فمنهم من أهل بعمرة ومنهم من أهل بحجة وكنت ممن أهل بعمرة فحضت قبل أن أدخل مكة فأدركني يوم عرفة وأنا حائض فشكوت ذلك إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال دعي عمرتك وانقضي رأسك وامتشطي وأهلي بالحج ففعلت فلما كانت ليلة الحصبة أرسل معي عبد الرحمن إلى التنعيم فأردفها فأهلت بعمرة مكان عمرتها فقضى الله حجها وعمرتها ولم يكن في شيء من ذلك هدي ولا صدقة ولا صوم
