He set out with the Prophet ﷺ on the day of Arafah, and the Prophet ﷺ heard behind him a great deal of shouting, beating, and the noise of camels. He gestured toward the people with his whip and said, "People, maintain calm, for righteousness does not lie in haste.""Awdau" means they hurried. "Khilalakum" comes from the meaning of moving in between you. Likewise, "wa fajjarna khilalahuma" means "between the two of them."

أنه دفع مع النبي ﷺ يوم عرفة فسمع النبي ﷺ وراءه زجرا شديدا وضربا وصوتا للإبل فأشار بسوطه إليهم وقال أيها الناس عليكم بالسكينة فإن البر ليس بالإيضاع أوضعوا أسرعوا {خلالكم} من التخلل بينكم {وفجرنا خلالهما} بينهما
