Abdullah bin Umar reported,

Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib sought permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to spend the nights of Mina in Mecca on account of his duty of providing water to the pilgrims, and he granted him permission.

حدثنا عبد الله بن أبي الأسود حدثنا أبو ضمرة حدثنا عبيد الله عن نافع

عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما قال

استأذن العباس بن عبد المطلب رضي الله عنه رسول الله ﷺ أن يبيت بمكة ليالي منى من أجل سقايته فأذن له
