Umar said to the Corner Stone, "By Allah, I know well that you are only a stone, you can neither cause harm nor bring benefit. Had I not seen the Prophet ﷺ kiss you, I would not have kissed you." Then he kissed it.Then he said, "What have we to do with walking briskly? We only did it to show our strength to the polytheists, and Allah has already destroyed them."Then he said, "It is something the Prophet ﷺ did, so we do not wish to abandon it."
