The Prophet ﷺ said on the day after the Day of Sacrifice, while at Mina, "Tomorrow we will camp at Khayf Banu Kinanah, where they pledged themselves to disbelief," meaning al-Muhassab. This was because Quraysh and Kinanah had made a pact against Banu Hashim and Banu Abdul-Muttalib, or Banu Muttalib, that they would neither intermarry with them nor trade with them until they handed the Prophet ﷺ over to them.Salamah reported from Aqeel, and Yahya bin Dahhak from Uzai, who said, Ibn Shihab informed me, and they both said, "Banu Hashim and Banu Muttalib."Abu Abdullah said, "Banu Muttalib" is more correct.
