I know exactly how the Prophet ﷺ used to recite the talbiyah, "Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Truly all praise and blessing belong to You."Abu Muawiya followed him in narrating this from Amash. Shuba said, Sulayman informed us, "I heard Khaythama report from Abu Atiya, who said, 'I heard Ayesha ...'"
Bukhari related the hadith of Thawri, from Amash, from Ammarah, from Abu Atiya, concerning the talbiyah. He said that Abu Muawiya corroborated him, and that Shuba said, from Sulayman, from Khaythama.Abu Abbas bin Saeed said that Yahya Qattan corroborated Shuba, from Khaythama, while Israil, Abu Ahwas, Ammar bin Zurayq, Zuhayr bin Muawiya, Ibn Fudayl, Abu Khalid, Jarrah bin Dahhak, and others differed from them, corroborating Thawri instead.Abu Hasan said, Harbi related it, from Abdullah bin Dawud, from Amash, from Ammarah, from Abu Atiya, from Ayesha, "I certainly remember the talbiyah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, which he used to recite, and I heard her say the talbiyah three times."Amash said, and Khaythama mentioned, from Aswad, that he used to add, "And the dominion, no partner do you have."Shafii related it from Muaz bin Muthanna, from Musaddad, from him.Harbi said, "I do not find that to be correct in my view, and it seems likely that the error crept in on Shuba from Amash's mention of Khaythama in his hadith."And Allah knows best.
Hafidh (may Allah have mercy on him) said in the introduction to Fath al-Bari, page 358, after mentioning some of Daraqutni's words. He said, following Daraqutni's statement,Abdullah bin Dawud al-Khuraybi narrated it from Amash, and he clarified it and explained its defect. He said, Amash narrated to us from Umara, from Abu Atiya, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it.Amash said, and Khaythama mentioned from Aswad that he used to add, "and the dominion, You have no partner."Daraqutni said, it appears that the confusion entered upon Shuba from Amash's mention of Khaythama at the end of it.Then Hafidh said, I say, this is a good verification, and its implication is the correctness of what Bukhari chose and relied upon from the narration of Amash, though Bukhari did not neglect to mention the disagreement, rather he related it following the hadith of Thawri. And Allah knows best.
