Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

The Prophet ﷺ designated Dhul Hulayfa as the place where the people of Madinah enter the state of ihram, al-Juhfa for the people of Sham, Yalamlam for the people of Yemen, and Qarn for the people of Najd. These are the appointed stations for those who live in those regions and for travelers passing through them from elsewhere who intend to perform Hajj or Umrah. Whoever lives closer to Makkah than these stations enters ihram from his own home, so much so that the people of Makkah enter ihram from within Makkah itself.
