The Messenger of Allah ﷺ designated Dhul Hulayfa as the place where the people of Madinah enter the state of ihram, al-Juhfa for the people of Sham, Qarn al-Manazil for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. These are the appointed stations for the people of those regions and for anyone passing through them from elsewhere who intends to perform Hajj or Umra. Whoever lives closer to Makkah than these stations enters ihram from his own home, and likewise the people of Makkah themselves enter ihram from within Makkah.
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا حماد عن عمرو بن دينار عن طاوس
وقت رسول الله ﷺ لأهل المدينة ذا الحليفة ولأهل الشأم الجحفة ولأهل نجد قرن المنازل ولأهل اليمن يلملم فهن لهن ولمن أتى عليهن من غير أهلهن لمن كان يريد الحج والعمرة فمن كان دونهن فمهله من أهله وكذاك حتى أهل مكة يهلون منها
