The Prophet ﷺ designated Dhu al-Hulayfa as the place of ihram for the people of Madinah, al-Juhfa for the people of Sham, Qarn al-Manazil for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. These are the appointed stations for them and for anyone who passes through them from elsewhere intending to perform Hajj or Umrah. Whoever lives closer to Makkah than these stations should enter ihram from where his journey begins, and even the people of Makkah enter ihram from Makkah itself.
حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل حدثنا وهيب حدثنا ابن طاوس عن أبيه
إن النبي ﷺ وقت لأهل المدينة ذا الحليفة ولأهل الشأم الجحفة ولأهل نجد قرن المنازل ولأهل اليمن يلملم هن لهن ولمن أتى عليهن من غيرهن ممن أراد الحج والعمرة ومن كان دون ذلك فمن حيث أنشأ حتى أهل مكة من مكة
