The delegation of Abdul-Qays came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, this tribe of Rabia stands between us and you, and the disbelievers of Mudar block our path. We can only reach you during the sacred months. So instruct us with something we can take from you and call others to who are behind us."He said, "I command you with four things and forbid you from four. Belief in Allah and bearing witness that there is no god but Allah," and he gestured with his hand like this, "and establishing the prayer, giving the zakat, and that you hand over a fifth of whatever spoils you take. And I forbid you from the dry gourd, the green jar, the hollowed stump, and the pitch-coated vessel."Sulayman and Abu Numan reported from Hammad, "Belief in Allah is bearing witness that there is no god but Allah."
حدثنا حجاج حدثنا حماد بن زيد حدثنا أبو جمرة قال سمعت
قدم وفد عبد القيس على النبي ﷺ فقالوا يا رسول الله إن هذا الحي من ربيعة قد حالت بيننا وبينك كفار مضر ولسنا نخلص إليك إلا في الشهر الحرام فمرنا بشيء نأخذه عنك وندعو إليه من وراءنا قال آمركم بأربع وأنهاكم عن أربع الإيمان بالله وشهادة أن لا إله إلا الله وعقد بيده هكذا وإقام الصلاة وإيتاء الزكاة وأن تؤدوا خمس ما غنمتم وأنهاكم عن الدباء والحنتم والنقير والمزفت وقال سليمان وأبو النعمان عن حماد الإيمان بالله شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله
