The Prophet ﷺ performed the funeral prayer over a man one night after he had been buried. He stood with his companions, having asked about him earlier, saying, "Who is this?"They replied, "So-and-so, who was buried last night."So they prayed over him.
حدثنا عثمان بن أبي شيبة حدثنا جرير عن الشيباني عن الشعبي
صلى النبي ﷺ على رجل بعد ما دفن بليلة قام هو وأصحابه وكان سأل عنه فقال من هذا فقالوا فلان دفن البارحة فصلوا عليه
