Ayesha reported,

When news arrived of the killing of Zayd bin Haritha, Jafar, and Abdullah bin Rawaha, the Prophet ﷺ sat down with grief visible upon him while I was peeking through a crack in the door. A man came to him and said, "Messenger of Allah, the women of Jafar," and he mentioned their weeping. So the Prophet instructed him to forbid them. The man went off, then returned and said, "I forbade them," and mentioned that they had not obeyed him. The Prophet ordered him a second time to forbid them. He went off, then came back and said, "By Allah, they have overcome me," or "they have overcome us." The doubt is from Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Hawshab. She claimed that the Prophet ﷺ then said, "Throw dust into their mouths."So I said, "May Allah rub your nose in the dirt. By Allah, you will not do it, and you have left the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in nothing but distress."
