The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to us while we were washing his daughter and said, "Wash her three times, or five, or more than that, with water and lotus leaves, and put camphor in the last washing. When you have finished, let me know."When we finished, we informed him, and he handed us his waist-wrapper and said, "Wrap her in this against her body."Ayub said, Hafsa narrated to me the like of Muhammad's report. In Hafsa's version it stated, "Wash her an odd number of times," and it had, "three, five, or seven." It also contained that he said, "Begin with her right side and the places of ablution on her body." And in it Umm Atiya said, "We braided her hair into three braids."
حدثنا محمد حدثنا عبد الوهاب الثقفي عن أيوب عن محمد
دخل علينا رسول الله ﷺ ونحن نغسل ابنته فقال اغسلنها ثلاثا أو خمسا أو أكثر من ذلك بماء وسدر واجعلن في الآخرة كافورا فإذا فرغتن فآذنني فلما فرغنا آذناه فألقى إلينا حقوه فقال أشعرنها إياه فقال أيوب وحدثتني حفصة بمثل حديث محمد وكان في حديث حفصة اغسلنها وترا وكان فيه ثلاثا أو خمسا أو سبعا وكان فيه أنه قال ابدءوا بميامنها ومواضع الوضوء منها وكان فيه أن أم عطية قالت ومشطناها ثلاثة قرون
