Aswad reported,

I asked Ayesha how the Prophet's ﷺ prayer at night used to be.She replied, "He would sleep during the early part of the night and rise during the latter part to pray, then return to his bed. When the muezzin called the adhan, he would spring up. If he needed to perform a full bath, he would do so, otherwise he would make ablution and head out."

سألت عائشة رضي الله عنها كيف كانت صلاة النبي ﷺ بالليل قالت كان ينام أوله ويقوم آخره فيصلي ثم يرجع إلى فراشه فإذا أذن المؤذن وثب فإن كان به حاجة اغتسل وإلا توضأ وخرج
