He reported that a man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, the livestock have perished and the roads have been cut off, so pray to Allah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed to Allah, and rain poured down on us from one Friday to the next.Then a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, the houses have collapsed, the roads have been cut off, and the livestock have perished."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, send it upon the mountaintops, the hills, the valley beds, and where the trees grow."The clouds then parted away from Madinah like a garment being removed.
حدثنا عبد الله بن يوسف قال أخبرنا مالك عن شريك بن عبد الله بن أبي نمر
أنه قال جاء رجل إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله هلكت المواشي وتقطعت السبل فادع الله فدعا الله فمطرنا من الجمعة إلى الجمعة فجاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله تهدمت البيوت وتقطعت السبل وهلكت المواشي فقال رسول الله ﷺ اللهم على ظهور الجبال والآكام وبطون الأودية ومنابت الشجر فانجابت عن المدينة انجياب الثوب
