Saeed bin Zayd bin Amr bin Nufayl reported that Arwa disputed with him over part of his property. He said, "Leave her and what she claims, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever takes a handspan of land unjustly will have it hung around his neck from seven earths on the Day of Resurrection. O Allah, if she is lying, blind her sight and make her grave in her own house.'"He said, "I later saw her blind, groping along the walls, saying, 'The supplication of Saeed bin Zayd has struck me.' Then while she was walking in the house, she passed by a well in it and fell into it, and it became her grave."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Musaqah (1610:138) from Harmala bin Yahya, he said, Abdullah bin Wahb told us, Umar bin Muhammad told me, he said, and then he mentioned it. Bukhari also recorded it (3198) through another route from Urwa, from Saeed bin Zayd, that Arwa had disputed with him before Marwan over a right which she claimed he had taken away from her, and Saeed said, "Would I take away anything from her right?" and he mentioned the hadith. Bukhari did not mention Saeed's supplication against Arwa.Among the accounts of Saeed bin Zayd is that he was among the earliest to embrace Islam, having accepted it before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the house of Arqam. Umar's conversion to Islam took place in Saeed's own home, because Saeed was the husband of Umar's sister, Fatimah.Saeed bin Jubayr said, "The standing of Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali, Saad, Saeed, Talha, Zubayr, and Abdul-Rahman bin Awf with the Prophet ﷺ was one and the same, they were ahead of him in battle and behind him in prayer." Ibn Hajar mentioned this in al-Isabah.Waqidi said, "He died at Aqiq, and was carried to Madinah for burial. That was in the year fifty, though it is also said fifty-one, and it is also said the year fifty-two. He lived seventy-some years."
