Abdullah bin Amr bin As reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to his companions while they were arguing about divine decree. His face flushed with anger, as if pomegranate seeds had burst across it, and he said, "Is this what you were commanded to do? Is this what you were created for? You strike parts of the Quran against other parts. It was by this that the nations before you were destroyed."Abdullah bin Amr said, "I have never envied myself for missing any gathering of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as much as I envied myself for missing that gathering by being absent from it."
