No one had embraced Islam except on the day I embraced it. I remained for seven days as one of only three Muslims.
ما أسلم أحد إلا في اليوم الذي أسلمت فيه، ولقد مكثت سبعة أيام وإني لثلث الإسلام.
Bukhari narrated it in the Virtues of the Companions (3727) from Ibrahim bin Musa, from Ibn Abu Zaida, who said, Hashim bin Hashim bin Utbah bin Abu Waqqas narrated to us, saying, I heard Saeed bin Musayab say, I heard Saad bin Abu Waqqas say, and then he mentioned it.His statement, "a third of Islam," means Khadijah and Abu Bakr, and he was the third. This was according to his own knowledge, for other people had already accepted Islam before him, but they had concealed their Islam.
