The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never combined both his parents in offering them as ransom for anyone except Saad bin Malik. On the day of Uhud, he kept saying to him, "Shoot, may my father and mother be your ransom."
ما جمع رسول الله ﷺ أبويه لأحد غير سعد بن مالك، فإنه جعل يقول له يوم أحد: ارم فداك أبي وأمي.
Bukhari narrated it in jihad (2905) and in campaigns (4059), and Muslim in the virtues of the companions (2411-41), both through routes from Saad bin Ibrahim, from Abdullah bin Shaddad, who said, "I heard Ali say," and then he related it. The wording given is Muslim's, and Bukhari related it similarly. His statement "Saad bin Malik" refers to Saad bin Abu Waqqas.
