Saad reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ali, "You are to me as Harun was to Musa, except that there is no prophet after me" ﷺ.
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لعلي: أنت مني بمنزلة هارون من موسى، إلا أنه ليس بعدي نبي ﷺ.
Ahmad (27081), Nasai in Kubra (8143), Tabarani in Kabir (24/146-147), and Ibn Abu Asim in Sunnah (1381, edited by Basim) all narrated it, all of them via Musa Juhani, who said, "I went in to see Fatimah bint Ali, and my companion Abu Mahl said to her, 'How old are you?' She said, 'Eighty six years.' He said, 'Did you hear anything from your father?' She said, 'Asma bint Umays told me,'" and then he related the hadith.Its isnad is hasan because of Fatimah bint Ali bin Abu Talib. A group of narrators reported from her, but no one gave her a formal grading of trustworthiness except that Ibn Hibban mentioned her among the trustworthy narrators (5/301). As for the Hafiz's statement in Taqrib, "trustworthy," it may go back to the fame of her particular reports, as Mizzi mentioned in Tahzib Kamal, citing Zubayr bin Bakkar and others. Otherwise, the word "trustworthy" requires an explicit statement from one of the leading scholars.Haythami mentioned it in Majma (9/109) and said, "Ahmad and Tabarani narrated it, and the men of Ahmad's chain are the men of the sahih, except for Fatimah bint Ali, and she is trustworthy."Some have mistakenly identified her as Fatimah bint Husayn bin Ali bin Abu Talib, but this is wrong, since none of those who narrated from her included Musa Juhani.
