A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ, and he instructed her to return to him later.She asked, "What if I come and do not find you?" as though she were referring to his death.He replied, "If you do not find me, then go to Abu Bakr."
أتت امرأة النبي ﷺ فأمرها أن ترجع إليه، قالت: أرأيت إن جئت ولم أجدك؟ كأنها تقول: الموت، قال عليه الصلاة والسلام: إن لم تجديني فأتي أبا بكر.
Bukhari related it in the Merits of the Companions (3659) and Muslim in the Merits of the Companions (2386), both of them by way of Ibrahim bin Saad, my father informed me, from Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mutim, from his father, who said, and then he mentioned it.
