On the day of Hudaybiyah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not light any fires at night." Later he said, "Light fires and prepare your food, for no people who come after you will match your sa or your mudd."
أن رسول الله ﷺ لما كان يوم الحديبية قال: لا توقدوا نارا بليل فلما كان بعد ذلك قال: أوقدوا، واصطنعوا، فإنه لا يدرك قوم بعدكم صاعكم ولا مدكم.
Ahmad (11208), Abu Yaala (984), and Hakim (3/36) all narrated it through routes from Yahya bin Saeed Qattan, who said, Muhammad bin Abu Yahya Aslami told us, my father told me, that Abu Saeed Khudri informed him, and he related it.Muhammad bin Abu Yahya Aslami and his father, whose name was Samaan, are both hasan in hadith. Hakim said, "This hadith is sahih in its chain of transmission."
